FAQs
-
Documentary photography is unposed or candid photos. There is no direction, no asking anyone to look at the camera, no flipping on light switches to make a dark room brighter and no asking someone to repeat that hilarious dance they just did to make everyone laugh. It’s life, as it unfolds, without interruptions from me.
-
Basically I’m the fun friend with a camera that’s there to hang out with you and your family and photographing your day. No pressure to perform or even look at the camera and forget about the need to have a spotless house. This is about capturing you as you are, in this moment in time.
-
If posed family sessions with matching outfits stresses you out and you’re tired of bribing your kids for good photos, then this is the session for you. There’s zero pressure and honestly the best moments are often the small ones that we tend to overlook.
-
Your session fee covers my time with you. Two weeks after your session, we can hop onto Zoom or I can meet you at your home and we’ll look at your photos (laughter or crying to be expected) At that time we’ll go over your options for products and how you want to display your photos, digitally, in albums or on the wall.
-
That’s completely up to you. If you want photos of a place that you regularly go with your kids, I’m there to tag along and photograph that. If you’d rather hang out at the house, then I’m more than happy to capture you in the space where you feel most at home.
-
Nope! You don’t even have to have kids in order to book this session. Maybe you and your partner want photos of just the two of you and what you love to do. Maybe you want me to photograph a birthday party, time spent with grandparents or the day you bring your newborn home. I’m here to capture all families, whatever that looks like. Everyone deserves beautiful photos and everyone is welcome to book with me.
-
I won’t be forcing anyone to participate. I’m a mom to two kids, one of which is shy and highly sensitive, so I understand some kids take longer to warm up and some never do. If your partner doesn’t want to be in all the photos, they can pop in and out as they wish. No pressure.
-
My radius for shooting families with no additional charge is within 30 miles of Tulsa. Outside of that, there will be a travel feel charged. I’m more than happy to travel via train, plane or automobile in order to photograph your family.
-
Not a problem, if you decide you want a few posed photos, I can dedicate 15 minutes of your session for that.
-
Depending on the length of the session, it’s possible I will be eating with you, but I’m not picky, so no need for fancy meals. However, I will have my camera and be shooting while we are eating, whether that’s in your home or at a restaurant. I do not currently do overnight sessions at this time, so I won’t be spending the night.
-
I do! I offer end of life sessions, to include family pets, Fresh 48s or first days home with your newborn, branding for your business, birthdays, or other special occasions.
At this time I am not shooting births or weddings, but I’m happy to recommend others that do.
-
I highly encourage every person who books with me get an album of photos from our time together. Your story printed in an album is one of the best ways to preserve it. I also offer archival quality printed photos.
